A Good Week

I'm gonna get to posting updates about Oaxaca...there is quite a bit to say. Although, really, not much apparently, if you only read mainstream media. But, before that, I'm going to reflect on my week. It's been a good one. Because I'm lazy, and wanted to avoid drawing this out, I'm going to make a list.

Besides being an ally to laziness, this guy says lists are good porque:

#1 Lists keep posts succinct - there is something about a list that keeps you from rambling

#2 Lists look ‘neat’ - I don’t know about you but when I surf onto a site that is full of messily formatted text - I don’t tend to stick around long. Lists on the other hand can be quite visually pleasing

So...keeping that in mind, here's my list of why this was a good week:

* Full-time classes and full-time work are no longer battling to steal my sleep.
* My latino youth development program has received enthusiastic reviews.
* Oaxaca has seen peace and calm for 2 weeks.
* I've made several new friends who are smart and funny
* The end to my best friend's painful divorce is looking closer and closer

Peaceful Co-Existence

I give up. No matter how many times I change the padding and margins, and....upon "preview", my banner, center column and hacked sidebars (gracias hectro!) are lined up....lo and behold, i will log on a day later to see that it is all out of whack. And not only does this template torment me with with its moving... it's never consistent in its relocation processes! It's like trying to catch a hat in a strong wind...everytime you think you grasped it....whoosh! One day it's moved so far to the left the left sidebar is sulking at the bottom. Dejected. What about me? Don't I matter? The next day...left sidebar has regained composure...but the center and right columns have such a wide chasm between them they're like two ex-es of a recent bad breakup running into each other at a nightclub trying to share the same fun place with as much distance and interaction as noticeably possible. But of course everyone notices. What's the deal? How do I get these things to work together and realize they can all share the same space, have some boundaries, and work towards a shared goal....while still looking cool and collected? Any advice appreciated.
